This year, for the 3rd Annual Challenge of Color, Erin Prais-Hintz of Tesori trovati thought really big!
Along with Brandi Hussey of Brandi Girl Blog, a real color guru, they selected the 40 images taken from the Earth As Art image gallery to use in the challenge.
Erin sent each of the 80 participants two palettes, so that we could choose the one we liked the most.
I received these two colors palettes.
Do you recognize Brendi style when we talk about palettes? She is really unique!
After some thinking I selected palette number 2: Lake Amadeus, a salt lake in Australia as I found out later. Honestly, it was really hard to take a decision, but in the end it was my resolution not to buy new beads that made the difference.
I have a lot of brown beads or stones in my stash, but no white or grey ones. Also I never used any blue beads in my pieces, so I thought this was the perfect occasion.
Picking up the colours was pretty easy: blue, lime-green and light violet.
The blue focal is a wonderful cuff connector from Heather Powers of HumbleBeads, then I used round amethyst beads and lime-green jade beads.
You know, I would have never thought to match blue and lime-green, but now I am enchanted by this combination. These two colours look wonderful together.
That’s why I like to join this challenge as the Bead Soup Blog Hop© challenge, because you are somehow forced to experiment and to work with new tools.
Now, are you ready to hop? I cannot wait to see what the other participants made!

Have fun!

I’m slowly getting around to all the blogs. Your bracelet is gorgeous, and I love Heather’ polymer focal and those wonderful jade beads. Nice job!!!!
Thank you Alice!
Lovely combination! (and sorry I am so late — it’s been crazy!).
Don’t worry, there are no deadlines!
Thank you for stopping by!
Yes, this combination works so beautifully! Such a great use of color.
Thank you!
Very pretty. Love the way you interpreted your palette.
I really loved my palette, I had to do it justice! I am happy I did.
Oh how beautiful! I totally agree the colors work wonderful in your bracelet! Very nicely done!!
Thank you very much and thanks for stopping by!
What a lovely combination of colors you came up with. I love the brighter pop of the focal against the softer, muted, color of the beads.
I was so lucky to have the right beads for this challenge.
Very pretty and fresh Ambra. I had the same palette, and love seeing what others did with it. I had just as much trouble choosing until this bead arrived in the mail that is perfect for my second palette and the reveal is not until mid-December so that sealed my choice
It’s wonderful to see what people can do when starting from the same point. Imagination is amazing!
Ambra, Love your work! The cuff connector goes so well with the green jade.
Thank you Karla! I am so happy I could use that connector!
