Heather Powers of HumbleBeads is hosting a weekly challenge to celebrate her upcoming book. Every week she picks up a nature related theme and we have one week to complete a piece of jewellery inspired by that theme.
This week’s inspiration is: Zen garden.
I have studied Buddhism and Zen thoroughly during my University years and I could not miss this call.
I remember that I was really fascinated by the attention that Zen monks put in those gardens. I have read beautiful pages on the meaning of each leaves and stones, on the harmony that must pervade the composition and I have seen beautiful pictures.
Pictures like these were my inspiration for my creation.
White and grey glass beads are wrapped by silver wire, as rocks are wrapped by the racked sand in the karesansui.
A big thanks to Patty who made me aware of this challenge posting it on facebook. She is a real web-scout!
